by creating an account, installing the chrome extension, or otherwise using spotlight, you agree to these terms. if you’re using spotlight on behalf of a team or company, you confirm you’re authorised to accept these terms on its behalf. if you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

spotlight is contextual feedback for web ui: a chrome extension and companion app that let you and your teammates comment directly on the elements of a live web page, then turn that feedback into actionable engineering fixes.

• you need an account to use spotlight. you can sign up with an email and password or via google or github.
• you must be at least 13 years old to use spotlight.
• you're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials and personal api token secure.
• spotlight is built around teams — comments are shared with your team, and team owners manage membership and billing.

keep it fair. you agree not to:

• use spotlight for anything illegal or to harass, abuse, or harm others
• scrape, reverse engineer, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service
• post content that infringes someone else's rights or breaks the law
• use spotlight to comment on a site in a way that violates that site's own terms or another third party's terms
• treat ai fix suggestions as final — they're a starting point, so review them before relying on or shipping them

spotlight has a free plan and a paid pro plan, billed per team on a weekly, monthly, or yearly cadence and priced per seat. payments are processed by stripe; we don’t store your card details. subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can manage or cancel yours any time through the stripe billing portal. cancelling stops future renewals but doesn’t refund the current period. we don’t give refunds except where required by law, and we’ll give reasonable notice before any price change.

the comments and feedback you create stay yours. you grant us the licence we need to store, process, and display that content to run spotlight for you and your team. the spotlight software, design, and brand belong to ogbuilds, and nothing here transfers any of that to you.

spotlight relies on third parties to operate — including stripe for payments, neon for our database, google and github for optional sign-in, and anthropic to generate ai fix suggestions. if you sign in with google or github, your use of those services is subject to their own terms. we’re not responsible for third-party services we don’t control.

spotlight is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. we don’t promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. ai-generated suggestions may be inaccurate or incomplete — always review them before acting on them.

to the fullest extent permitted by law, ogbuilds won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. our total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100 if you’re on the free plan. nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

you can stop using spotlight and close your account at any time. we may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that puts it or others at risk. disconnecting the extension clears your token from local storage immediately.

these terms are governed by the laws of england & wales, and the courts of england & wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.

we may update these terms from time to time. we’ll update the date above, and continued use of spotlight after a change means you accept the updated terms.
